Five billionaires in Komi
There are five individuals with a registered annual income of more than one billion RUB in the Komi Republic, regional tax authorities say.
According to the tax authorities, the five rouble-billionaires made their revenues on business activities and on stock trading.
A total of 3360 tax payers reported an income of more than one million RUB, newspaper Krasnaya Znamya reports. The figures are for the year 2009.
As previously reported by BarentsObserver, also Murmansk Oblast has got its first official rouble-billionaire.
The Komi Republic has a population of about one million people. The region is rich in natural resources like oil and gas, timber, coal and valuable minerals and metals.
