The new complex is built by the Yamal LNG company along with regional authorities, the Yamal-Nenets government informs.
«It is all made in line with the time schedules and with high quality», regional Governor Dmitry Kobylkin said in a meeting with the Igor Konstantinov, leader of FSB’s Border Guard division in the west Arctic region. «We will continue to offer full backing to the border guards», he added.
The new FSB complex includes a housing block for several tens of specialists, garages for special equipment, as well as a separate building for accessories, a press release informs.
The Sabetta office is equipped with the latest equipment which allows local servicemen to work under comfortable conditions, Boris Berezhnyov, leader of the FSB border guard office in regional capital Salekhard, said in the meeting.
About 15,000 people are currently working in Sabetta to develop the Yamal LNG plant and the nearby sea port. Both plant and port are to be fully ready for operations in 2017, project developers say.
The Yamal LNG project is operated by Novatek (50,1%) in partnership with Total (20%), CNPC (20%) and the Silk Road Fund (9,9%).
Sabetta is primarily built for out-shipments of LNG. But also other kind of goods could eventually be sent through the port.
