Guests in Arctic and Arctic Guests

The city is preparing for opening of the Second Arctic Forum which will expectedly be opened by the Prime-Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin next week.

The Forum’s participants representing all Arctic countries are going to discuss development of transport routes and infrastructure and possibilities of international cooperation in this area.

Like it often happens in such cases in Russia the city is hastily trying to clean the facades in order to present itself to over 400 Forum’s guests in a best view. The front sides of the buildings of the main streets are already fresh painted. In front the University the workers are finishing to lay the new paving slabs.

Near the hotel where Putin is going to spend one of his nights the new monument symbolizing military glory of the city during World War II was opened two weeks ago. This morning new statue of Lomonosov, the great Russian scientist, whose anniversary Russia celebrates this year, was delivered to the university.

All city hotels are already fully booked and no one can get even a most moderate room anywhere including suburbs of the city. Only wild gees got a privilege to make a short stop in the center of the city on their long journey to the south. These natural inhabitants of the Arctic today suddenly settled nearby the Arctic Forum venue. They immediately started loud discussion of their own problems which obviously are not less important as those to be discussed by human beings next week.
