TIFF brings silent film concert to Murmansk
Tromsø International Film Festival presents Fritz Lang’s METROPOLIS - with live soundtrack - at the Polar Lights International Arctic Film Festival in Murmansk on Thursday.
The Film is accompanied by live music by six musicians; Gudmund Østgård and Nasra from Tromsø (Norway), Ivan Afanasyev from Petrozavodsk (Russia) and the band Cleaning Women from Helsinki (Finland).

The production was originally composed for and performed at Tromsø International Film Festival in January, and cot great reviews. Now it is ready for Murmansk, and later this summer it will travel to Södankyle in Finnsih Lapland, and then three other Russian cities; St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk and Petrozavodsk.
- This is the third time we take a silent film concert on tour. It has been a great success cobining creative forces from North West Russia and Northern Norway - and this time Finland has also joined us. This is a true cultural Barents collaboration, says Martha Otte, director of Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF) to BarentsObserver.
