Norwegian voters turn to Conservatives

Support for the Conservative Party (Høyre) continues to grow among Norwegian voters. The party now has the support of 27 percent of the electorate, according to Norstat’s May poll.

This is nearly 10 percentage points higher than the result achieved at the last Parliamentary elections, when 17.2 percent of Norwegians voted for Høyre, NRK reports.

Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg’s Labour Party suffers the highest loss in the May poll, down by 3.3 points, from 32.3 per ent in April to 28.9 percent in May, but is still the nation’s largest political party.

The right-wing Progress Party (FrP) continues to drop, but this time only by 0.2 points, from 20.6 percent to 20.4.

The Christian Democrats (KrF) are up by 0.9 points, from 4.9 percent in April to 5.8 percent.
