Norway sends top diplomat to Murmansk
Former Ambassador to Moscow, Øyvind Nordsletten, is likely to be Norway’s new Consul General in Murmansk.
Nordsletten is one of Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre’s top diplomats. He has a long career including Moscow, Kiev and currently Dublin.
It is Nordlys that today reports on the possible appointment of Nordsletten as Consul General in Murmansk after Jon Fredriksen leaves the post this summer.
- I cannot comment appointments until they have passed the King in Council, but underlines that we try to have the best people at our foreign missions, Jonas Gahr Støre says to Nordlys.
Øyvind Nordsletten was Norway’s Ambassador to Moscow in the period from 2000 to 2008.
