50 Norwegian oil production licenses offered
The Norwegian Government has decided to offer 50 production licenses in the awards in predefined areas 2010.
The 50 production licenses are divided on the North Sea (31), the Norwegian Sea (17) and the Barents Sea (2). A total of 41 companies applied for production licenses in awards in predefined areas (APA) 2010, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s web site reads.
39 companies are offered participation interest in production licenses. 22 of these are offered operatorship. Two of the companies, Edison International and Spring Energy, have never been operators on the Norwegian shelf before.
Among the 22 companies offered operatorship are Det norske oljeselskap ASA, Lundin Norway AS, North Energy ASA, Statoil Petroleum AS, Petro Canada Norge AS and Wintershall Norge ASA.
