Arkhangelsk corruption on rise
The region is now on Russia’s Top 10 list of corrupt places.
Dvina Inform reports that Arkhangelsk region entered the Top 10 list of corrupt regions in Russia in the third quarter of 2010.
Arkhangelsk was listed on the 44th place in Russia’s corruption list in the second quarter of 2010.
Transparency International’s 2010 corruption perception index slides Russia to 154th of 178 countries, next to Tajikistand and Kenya. Last year, Russia was ranked on the 146th place.
According to Kirill Kabanov, head of Russia’s Anti-Corruption Committee, Russians paid $300 billion in bribes last year.
