Mill in Syktyvkar modernized
The leading British-based paper and packaging manufacturer Mondi Group has completed a 545 EUR expansion and modernization of its mill in Syktyvkar in the Republic of Komi, Northern Russia.
This is the largest mill modernization project in the Russian pulp and paper industry and began in July 2008, the company’s web site reads.
Mondi Syktyvkar is one of the largest pulp and paper producers in Russia with a total production capacity is around 830,000 tons of paper a year. The mill covers approx percent of the total uncoated wood free paper market in Russia and the CIS.
Mondi Group bought a 19.4 percent in the Syktyvkar mill in 1997, and expanded its share to 90 percent in 2002, according to Wikipedia.
