Poetic opening of Barents Spektakel
This year’s opening of the Barents Spektakel was the most poetic and mystical in years.
The opening show was a poetical and dreamy outdoor theatre performance called “Herbert’s Dream” by the French street theatre Compagnie des Quidams.
The annual festival Barents Spektakel opened in Kirkenes on February 8. The festival is a cultural-political cocktail with contemporary art, performances, literature, theatre, film, seminars and concerts as ingredients, spiced with the current issues related to the Barents Region and the High North in general. Eight large white figures moved around the square performing rituals and having secret meetings.
