Murmansk governor still in power

Dmitry Dmitriyenko today opened a meeting in the regional government, and the rumors of his resignation seem to have been somewhat exaggerated.

Russian media earlier this week wrote that the governor already had resigned and left the region. Today’s notice in B-port about Dmitriyenko opening a meeting in the regional government shows that he still is in power in Russia’s north-westernmost corner.

On the agenda for today’s meeting are questions like concepts for budget development; acquisition of computers and wheelchairs for schools for disabled children; maintenance of courtyards.
