Governor candidates ready in Arkhangelsk
Yelena Kudryashova is one of three persons United Russia suggests to be considered by President Medvedev for the post as Governor of Arkhangelsk Oblast.
The three persons are Aleksander Dementyev – Head of Arkhangelsk Chamber of Control and Accounts, Yelena Kudryashova – Rector of the Northern Arctic Federal University and Igor Orlov – Acting Governor of Arkhangelsk Oblast, United Russia’s web site reads.
Medvedev will now have ten days to study the candidates and pick out one preferred candidate for final approval by the Arkhangelsk regional Duma.
The former Governor of Arkhangelsk Ilya Mikhalchuk was fired by President Medvedev on January 13. United Russia received 31.9 % of the votes in the December 2011 Duma elections, down from 56.7 % in 2007.
