Borisoglebsk gets international status from February 1.

Russia’s border checkpoint to Norway will be classified as an international border crossing point from February 1. 2012.

When Borisoglebsk changes its classification from bilateral to multilateral checkpoint, people, vehicles and goods from countries other than Norway and Russia can also use the checkpoint for custom clearance, B-port writes.

It has earlier been said that status as international border crossing point will give Borisoglebsk more federal funding and that it requires more personnel. And by that, the opening hours can be expanded, BarentsObserver reported.
