Replace older military communication satellites
Late Wednesday evening a new satellite was orbited from Plesetsk space centre.
The communication satellite named Meridian 4, is the fourth in a series of new military communication satellites that will replace the outdated Russian Molniya system, reports RIA Novosti.
Plesetsk space centre is located in the Arkhangelsk region.
Interfax reports that yet another satellite is scheduled for launch from Plesetsk later in May.
