New Nenets oil field for Rosneft
State-owned oil company Rosneft and its regional subsidiary Severnaya Neft will develop the Naulskoye oil field in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The license to the field, which holds about 50 million tons of oil, has been acquired by the company for a price of 3.6 billion RUB, newspaper Krasnaya Znamya reports. The license was obtained without competition, as no other companies had registered for the tender. Lukoil earlier showed interest in the project, but later withdrew its bid. The tender was originally to be held in 2010, however then no companies registered, Komiinform.ru reports.
The Naulskoye field is located about 30 km from existing pipeline infrastructure and it is expected that Severnaya Neft will have to build a connecting new line.
From before the Severnaya Neft operates three oil fields in the Nenets AO. The company’s core activities in the Timan Pechora province is concentrated in the Komi Republic.
