It’s a deal!

The maritime border delimitation agreement between Norway and Russia has been ratified by the Russian Federation Council.

Russia’s upper house of parliament on Wednesday approved the agreement with Norway on delimitation of the Barents Sea and Arctic Ocean, RIA Novosti reports.

Last Friday the agreement was ratified by the State Duma with a majority of 311 against 57 votes.

The new borderline will become law 30 days after Medvedev signs it and the two countries formally exchange documents. Norway’s parliament Stortinget ratified the agreement on February 8.
