Arctic petroleum year 2030
By year 2030, Gazprom intends to produce an annual 200 billion cubic meters of gas and 10 million tons of oil on the shelf, the company’s revised Shelf Development Programme states.
The programme also reveals that Gazprom intends to discover another 11 billion tons of oil equivalents on the shelf the next twenty years. Over the last five years, the company has added 1,9 billion tons of shelf oil equivalents to its reserves, a press release from the company reads. The total reserves of the Russian shelf are estimated to 100 billion tons of oil equivalents, of which 80 percent is gas.
Gazprom’s Shelf Development Programme was adopted in year 2005, and is to be revised every five year.
The programme highlights the need for joint complex infrastructure and technology solutions to field developments. The Shtokman project and all its satellites are to be developed as one complex. The same is the case with the Prirazlomnoye and Dolginskoye fields in the Pechora Sea, and the North-Kamennomysskoye and Kamennomysskoye-more fields in the Ob and Tazov Bays, the press release reads.

Gazprom is today along with Rosneft the only company with license rights on the Russian Arctic shelf. The first project to enter a production phase is expected to be the Prirazlomnoye oil field in the Pechora Sea (2012) while the Shtokman project is scheduled for 2016.
As recently reported, Gazprom also intends to finalize the development of two fields in Yamal, which are located partly offshore, the Kharasaveyskoye Kruzenshternskoye fields.
