Key Murmansk minister leaves post

Yuri Yefremov has left his post as regional Minister of Economic Development in Murmansk.

Governor Dmitry Dmitriyenko on 28 December officially approved the resignation of Yefremov, the region’s Minister of Economic Development since April 2009.

Yefremov has been one of the key figures in the region’s successful organisation of the Murmansk Economic Forum held for the second time in October 2010. He will from now on work as special adviser to the governor, a press release from the regional administration reads.

The Ministry of Economic Development is responsible for strategic developments, social and economic planning and foreign relations.

Governor Dmitriyenko before New Year also made another change in his government team. The region’s former Deputy Governor Natalya Portnaya was promoted to the position of First Deputy Governor, Barentsnova.com reports.
