100 000 visitors to ”Lenin”

The world’s first nuclear-powered icebreaker ”Lenin”, has been a huge success after it was placed in the port of Murmansk and opened for the audience.

The other day visitor number 100 000 came to take a look at the vessel and the information center on nuclear energy, TV21 reports.

“Lenin” was towed from the Atomflot base to the sea terminal in downtown Murmansk in May 2009. There were plans to turn the historical icebreaker into a luxury hotel with restaurants and a sports center, but luckily the plans were rejected, and the vessel is more or less the same way as when it was new.
