Murmansk-Oslo-Uddevalla on one tank of diesel

Two Norwegians managed to drive 2.161 kilometres on one tank of diesel in a Ford Mondeo.

The two men started from Murmansk early Friday towards Oslo with one diesel-tank of 70 litres. Would it be possible to drive all the way without filling the tank?

Last year, the two drivers managed to drive 1.988 kilometres from Kirkenes in the north-eastern corner of Norway to Oslo on one tank.

Since last year, the two drivers have made detailed plans on how to drive even longer, as previously reported by BarentsObserver.

The road from Murmansk towards the border to Finland was not the best. – We knew the road was a little curvy on the Kola Peninsula. There were almost no asphalt some places, says Knut Wilthil. He and Henrik Borchgrevink shared the driving.

When the Ford Mondeo approached Oslo late Saturday the tank was still not empty. So they continued further south towards Norway’s southern border to Sweden.

The car did not stop before the car was in Uddevalla, 2.161 kilometres after the start in Murmansk.

That gives a diesel consumption of 0,308 litres per 10 kilometres, reports Norwegian TV2
